Clonshire has become a favoured destination
for holidays, weekends and short breaks for people from Ireland, Britain,
Europe, North America and further afield. You can plan a package that
includes top class hotels, or guesthouse/farmhouse accommodation, or
self-catering onsite or in the vicinity
The staff are well experienced at dealing with adults, youths, students
or children, whether on their own or in groups. But don't worry, if
you are a "mature" arrival to horse riding, you will not be with a
group including well experienced talented young riders. We tend to arrange
groups and sessions according to age and ability.
With our large and varied facilities we can cater for groups of
pre-teens, teens, students and adults simultaneously.
There is also normally a good mix of nationalities, the mix being
easier because we all have something in common...horses. Since 2005 there
is the added possibility of combining a trail ride in Clare and Connemara with time at the Centre. Those who have done this have found it a truly wonderful experience. All
the hotels in the area are equipped with Leisure centres so there is relief
for those early days aching muscles. For Irish people, there is also the
chance to bring your own horse. This is subject to availability.
Enquire at the office. Winter Breaks Clonshire's peak season is
from May to October but with the mild climate in Ireland, it is possible to
ride all the year round. In recent years, there is a growing interest
in short and long winter breaks with us. The rich colours of Autumn
have hardly faded when the new flush of spring lightens the land. It
is a lovely time of year to ride and there is the added opportunity to hunt
with the Limerick County Hunt. There is also the option of staying in the
home of Sue and Dan Foley for adults in the winter and the day runs much the
same way as it would for the children in the summer. This can be great
fun if a group of friends come together. All your meals are served in
the family kitchen, a short walk to the stables, surrounded by fields and
trees and of course horses! You can become more involved with the
centre and the horses in this way. |
