Jumping bonus at Clonshire

The Co. Limerick Foxhounds hold their Halloween Hunter Trials at Clonshire Equestrian Centre this bank holiday Monday 25th October.
Manager Dan Foley has been busy redesigning the course with some interesting new fences.

As a thank you to all competitors everyone who enters a cross country competition will have the option of jumping a specially built show jumping course at no extra charge. Ideal to tune up your hunter or educate an eventer. The show jumping course will be adjusted to suit each competition. Competitions begin at 9.30am with the U12/pre-novice/happy hackers followed by ponies, novice and open.

In the spirit of the season there will be a fancy dress competition for the U12s.

For further details call Clonshire at 061 396770.

Mollie and Fluff

Mollie and Fluff

This was the lovely Mollie and her first time on a pony watched by her mum Caroline and being taken good care of by the cutest pony in Clonshire, Fluff.

Children as young as Mollie while not yet old enough to have actual riding lessons can have short “pony walks” Mollie has been visiting us at Clonshire for a while now watching mum Caroline have lessons and was quiet happy around the horses and ponies so putting her up on Fluff for a short walk was just a great big fun adventure for her. Just look at that smile.

Limerick Pony Club C+ Test

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

Some photographs from the recent Limerick Pony Club C+ Test held at Clonshire Equestrian Centre.

Last weekend saw the County Limerick Hunt branch of the pony club do their C+ test in Clonshire. Most of the participants have grown up at Clonshire and it was great to see them all so well turned out and prepared. Needless to say they all passed!

Yvonne has spent many weeks over the summer getting them ready for the C+ and was so proud of all her students.

Both Sue & Yvonne were on hand on the day with advice and moral support.

Visiting lady horseriders

Monday, September 13th, 2010
We have a wonderful lady from America staying with us this week Lisa, and she is having a blast on River one of our younger horses. Lisa is staying with us on our “adult camp” and as a she wished to travel alone this option suited her very well. As guests are staying on site at the centre with the Foley family and other like minded travellers they are free talk horse as much as they like and to people who know that a rug is not something you put on the floorJ We have been introducing Lisa to some of our regular riders as well as some of the other guests who have visited the centre during the week.
In the photo with Lisa (who is on River by the way) is Susan from the UK who is staying in the village but riding at the centre (on Faith).
We have also had three lovely ladies from Portugal visit us this week to ride at the centre while passing through the village.
