Facilities

Clonshire Estate comprises 120 acres of beautiful parkland.  A large course of cross country fences of many styles, types  and heights has been developed in the park, allowing for many different courses and routes to suit all standards.

The main equestrian Centre area comprises a 30metre by 60 metre indoor arena with canteen, changing and viewing facilities, a very large outdoor arena and a small outdoor arena used for beginner tuition and schooling.

The main stables have capacity for 40 horses or ponies, while the livery yard has stabling for another 40.  The horse training facilities include walkers and treadmills.

During the summer,  grass show jumping and dressage practice arenas are also set up.

As well as being used by the University of Limerick' s Equestrian studies programmes between October and May, many dressage, Show Jumping, loose schooling, one day event and hunter trial competitions are held in Clonshire.

The Centre is also used by Pony Clubs, Riding Clubs, schools, colleges, Universities and other groups and organisations for training , using our own highly qualified teaching staff and/or guest instructors and trainers. In fact, coaches from Ireland, Europe and North America bring groups to Clonshire to avail of the excellent training available here.

The centre also boasts beautiful self-catering accommodation and live in facilities for teenagers and students.  See our Accommodation Section.
