Clonshire Estate comprises 120 acres of
beautiful parkland. A large course of cross country fences of many styles,
types and heights has been developed in the park, allowing for many
different courses and routes to suit all standards.
The main equestrian Centre area comprises a
30metre by 60 metre indoor arena with canteen, changing and viewing facilities,
a very large outdoor arena and a small outdoor arena used for beginner tuition
and schooling.
The main stables have capacity for 40 horses
or ponies, while the livery yard has stabling for another 40. The horse
training facilities include walkers and treadmills.
During the summer, grass show jumping and
dressage practice arenas are also set up.
As well as being used by the University of
Limerick' s Equestrian studies programmes between October and May, many
dressage, Show Jumping, loose schooling, one day event and hunter trial
competitions are held in Clonshire.
The Centre is also used by Pony Clubs, Riding
Clubs, schools, colleges, Universities and other groups and organisations for
training , using our own highly qualified teaching staff and/or guest
instructors and trainers. In fact, coaches from Ireland, Europe and North
America bring groups to Clonshire to avail of the excellent training available
here.
The centre also boasts beautiful
self-catering accommodation and live in facilities for teenagers and students.
