BHS Challenge award Course
Get a kickstart in your career with the BHS Silver Challenge awards. These awards consist of 8 books and certificates,
These 8 awards will grant you direct entry to BHS Stage 2 on completion. They are a basic intro into each subject and equal what would be covered in the BHS Stage 1.
Entry Requirements
An understanding of horses is required to take part, you are here to learn and will be trained however you must know how to tack up and have a bit of experience riding. You should be competent in trot and canter.
Course Programme:
The course will consist of 3 training days ran from 10am – 1pm:
On the first day, Tuesday 22nd of August we will do a ‘get to know you’ morning to asses your level and discus your career goals along with the training.
By doing the course you will achieve 7 of the 8 Silver Challenge award Certificates and books. The Ride Safe award requires its own training and assessment as this is the award that has replaced the traditional BHS Road safety test. This requires training on riding safely on the road doing simulated roads before going on the real road! At Clonshire we usually do the training and assessment in 1 day with training in the morning followed by assessment in the afternoon.

Full time BHS Training course
Applications are now open for our full time BHS Training course commencing in September 2022.
BHS Training courses will commence in September 2023 and run to May 2024, with training and exams for up to Stage 3.
Training is delivered in Progressive Riding lessons aiming specifically for the exams along with Practical training working with the horses and lectures in our classroom to learn theory such as equine nutrition, anatomy & physiology and behavior.
course days run from 9am. Monday - Friday.
There is accommodation available on site, however this is limited so book now.

TY Students BHS Stage 1 Training Programme
A Training program will run every Friday Throughout the transition year school year from 9:15am - 1pm. This program will allow students to study, train for and achieve their BHS Stage 1 exam. To apply for this course please contact us.
